ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္သာလွ်င္ တိုင္းျပည္၏ အမ်ဳိးသားေရး၊ ႏိုင္ငံေရးျပႆနာမ်ားကို ေျဖရွင္းႏိုင္မည့္ ယေန႔ကာလ၏ တဦးတည္းေသာ အမ်ိဳးသားေခါင္းေဆာင္ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ဖယ္ခံုၿမိဳ႕နယ္ အမတ္ ခြန္မားကိုဘန္းက ယေန႔က်င္းပေသာ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္၏ (၆၅) ႏွစ္ေျမာက္ ေမြးေန႔အႀကိဳအခမ္းအနားတြင္ ထုတ္ေဖာ္ေျပာၾကားလိုက္သည္။ကယားျပည္နယ္ဖယ္ခံုၿမိဳ႕နယ္ ျပည္သူ႔လႊတ္ေတာ္အမတ္နွင့္ ျပည္ေထာင္စုျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံအမ်ိဳးသားၫြန္႔ေပါင္းအစိုးရ ဖက္ဒရယ္ေရးရာဝန္ႀကီး ကယားအမ်ဳိးသား ခြန္မားကိုဘန္းက “ျမန္မာျပည္မွာ အဓိကလူမ်ဳိးႀကီးတိုင္းရင္းသား (၈) မ်ဳိးရွိတယ္။ ဒီလူေတြ အကုန္လံုးက ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ကို ေလးစားတယ္။ ဗိုလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေအာင္ဆန္းက လြတ္လပ္ေရးေခါင္းေဆာင္ျဖစ္ၿပီး ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ဟာ ဒီမိုကေရစီေရးေခါင္းေဆာင္ျဖစ္တယ္။ သူတို႔ရဲ႕ပြင့္လင္း႐ိုးသားမႈေၾကာင့္ အမ်ဳိးသားေခါင္းေဆာင္အျဖစ္ အသိအမွတ္ျပဳတာျဖစ္တယ္” ဟု ေျပာဆိုသည္။
ဇြန္ (၁၉) ရက္တြင္ က်ေရာက္မည့္ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္၏ (၆၅) ႏွစ္ေျမာက္ ေမြးေန႔အထိမ္းအမွတ္ အခမ္းအနားကို ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံ ဘန္ေကာက္ၿမိဳ႕ရိွ ႏိုင္ငံျခားသတင္းေထာက္မ်ားအသင္း ခန္းမ၌က်င္းပရာ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံဆိုင္ရာ ကေနဒါသံအမတ္ႀကီး ရြန္ဟက္ (ဖ္) မန္း အပါအဝင္၊ အေမရိကန္ႏွင့္ ခ်က္(ဗ္) သံ႐ံုးတို႔မွ သံအရာရိွမ်ား၊ ဒီမိုကေရစီႏွင့္အမ်ဳိးသားေရး တပ္ေပါင္းစု (၁၀) ဖြဲ႔မွ ေခါင္းေဆာင္မ်ား၊ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံ အထက္လႊတ္ေတာ္ႏွင့္ ျမန္မာ့ေရးရာ အေရွ႕ေတာင္အာရွ လႊတ္ေတာ္အမတ္မ်ား ဥကၠ႒ ခ႐ိုင္ဆတ္ခၽြန္ဟာဗန္တို႔ တက္ေရာက္ၾကသည္။
အခမ္းအနားတက္ေရာက္သည့္ ကရင္အမ်ဳိးသားအစည္းအ႐ံုး အေထြေထြအတြင္းေရးမႉး ေနာ္စီဖိုးရာစိန္ကလည္း “သူမဟာ အိမ္အက်ယ္ခ်ဳပ္က်ေနေပမယ့္ လူေတြကေတာ့ သူမေမြးေန႔ကို က်င္းပေနၾကတယ္။ သူမရဲ႕သေဘာထား အျမင္အားလံုးဟာ ျမန္မာျပည္သူေတြကို ကိုယ္စားျပဳေနတာပဲျဖစ္တယ္။ က်မတို႔အားလံုး လိုလားတာကေတာ့ ျမန္မာျပည္သူေတြဟာ သူတို႔ႏွစ္သက္တဲ့သူကို ေရြးခ်ယ္ပိုင္ခြင့္ရွိတဲ့ ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲပဲ လိုလားပါတယ္” ဟု ေမြးေန႔ဆုေတာင္းတြင္ ထည့္သြင္း ေျပာၾကားသြားသည္။
ကေနဒါသံအမတ္ႀကီးႏွင့္ အေမရိကန္၊ ခ်က္(ဗ္) သံ႐ံုးတို႔မွ ဆုေတာင္းစကားမ်ား ေျပာၾကားၿပီးေနာက္ ခ႐ိုင္ဆတ္ခၽြန္ဟာဗန္က အေရွ႕ေတာင္အာရွ အမတ္မ်ား၏ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ေမြးေန႔ ဆုေတာင္းသဝဏ္လႊာမ်ားကို စုစည္းတင္ျပသည္။
၎က “က်ေနာ္တို႔ဟာ ဒီလိုေမြးေန႔ေပါင္းမ်ားစြာကို သူမ မပါဘဲ၊ သူမကို လက္ဆြဲႏႈတ္ဆက္ခြင့္မရဘဲ ႀကိမ္ဖန္မ်ားစြာ က်င္းပခဲ့ရပါတယ္။ ဒါဟာ အလြန္႔အလြန္ကို ဝမ္းနည္းေၾကကြဲစရာ ေကာင္းပါတယ္။ ဒီကေန႔ဆိုရင္ က်ေနာ္တို႔ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံထဲမွာ ျမန္မာျပည္သားေတြ အမ်ားႀကီးရွိပါတယ္။ သူတို႔ဟာ ဒီလိုေနခြင့္ရ႐ံုမက အလုပ္လုပ္ကိုင္ခြင့္၊ လူ႔အခြင့္အေရးနဲ႔ ပညာသင္ၾကားခြင့္ေတြလည္း ပိုမိုရရွိသင့္ပါတယ္” ဟုလည္း ထည့္သြင္းေျပာၾကားသြားသည္။
ထို႔ေနာက္ အခမ္းအနားတြင္ ေမလ (၂၇) ရက္ေန႔မွစတင္၍ ကမာၻ႔ႏိုင္ငံအသီးသီးတြင္ ျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့သည့္ “လူထုေရြးေကာက္ပြဲႏွင့္ စစ္တပ္မွေရြးခ်ယ္ပြဲ” ဟုဆုိေသာ ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲအေပၚ သေဘာထားရလဒ္အား တပ္ေပါင္းစုကိုယ္စားလွယ္ႏွစ္ဦးက ရွင္းလင္းတင္ျပရာ ႏိုင္ငံေပါင္း (၁၃) ႏိုင္ငံ၌ လူေပါင္း (၃၉,၀၀၀) ေက်ာ္က ပါဝင္ဆႏၵျပဳ ထုတ္ေဖာ္ေၾကာင္း သိရသည္။
ညေနပိုင္းတြင္ “ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရးအတြက္ အမ်ဳိးသမီးမ်ား၏ အသံမ်ား” ဆိုသည့္ ျမန္မာအမ်ဳိးသမီးမ်ား၏ ရင္တြင္းခံစားခ်က္မ်ားကို တင္ျပထားသည့္ စာၫႊန္းႏွင့္ ဝတၳဳတိုေပါင္း (၁၁၁) ပုဒ္ပါဝင္သည့္ စာအုပ္ကို ေမြးေန႔အထိမ္းအမွတ္အျဖစ္ အာဆီယံစင္ၿပိဳင္ (Altsean) အဖြဲ႔ႀကီးက ထုတ္ေ၀လိုက္သည္။
အဆိုပါစာအုပ္သည္ ေရျခားေျမျခားအပါအဝင္ ယေန႔ျမန္မာအမ်ိဳးသမီးထု တရပ္လံုးခံစားေနရသည့္ အေရးအရာမ်ားကို ထင္ဟပ္ေဖာ္ျပထားၿပီး “သမီးရဲ႕မိဘႏွစ္ပါးက သမီးကို ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံမွာ ေမြးဖြားခဲ့ၾကပါတယ္။ သမီးမွာ အစ္ကိုႏွစ္ေယာက္လည္းရွိပါတယ္။ သူတို႔ကိုလည္း ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံံမွာပဲ ေမြးဖြားခဲ့ၾကတာပါ။ ဒါေပမယ့္ သမီးတို႔က ထိုင္းလူမ်ဳိးေတာ့ မဟုတ္ၾကပါဘူး။ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံကလာတဲ့ ေရႊ႕ေျပာင္းအလုပ္သမားေတြ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္” စေသာ သန္႔ရွင္းပြင့္လင္းမႈမ်ားျဖင့္ ေရးဖြဲ႔ထားေသာ အမ်ဳိးသမီးမ်ား၏အသံကို ကိုယ္စားျပဳေၾကာင္း ေတြ႔ရွိရသည္။

The "Arrest Yourself" event is taking place in Chiang Mai this Sunday, 20 June, in celebration of Aung San Suu Kyi's 65th birthday, and in solidarity with her 14 years of house arrest. This is an all-day educational 'seminar-style' event with several presentations from Burmese organizations, guest speakers, short documentaries, discussions, Burmese food, and some surprises. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Chiang Mai University's Uniserv building, located at 239 Nimmanhaemin Road. Please see the attached itinerary for the exact schedule of events and presenters.
We will have several different admission options, which are as follows:
• 160 baht = basic admission for all presentations, including special commemorative gift
• 230 baht = admission and commemorative gift, plus Burmese lunch
• 500 baht = "Best Friend of the Best Friend" admission, which includes admission, lunch, commemorative gift, "Peace in Burma Now" t-shirt, plus a free DVD of your choice from the library's collection

their lives from Burma and are now being tragically abused in
Malaysia, some even living lives as modern day slaves. All we need is
your signature. Please read on.

Burmese refugees who have fled for their lives to Malaysia because of
religious and ethnic persecution in their homeland have not been
recognized as Persons of Concern by the Malaysian government. Instead,
they are "illegals". Their basic human rights are imperiled. They are
denied the right to seek livelihood, access health care, receive
education or seek safe and appropriate shelter. Women, men and
children-including those who may be elderly, disabled, pregnant or
sick-are arrested, abused, detained, tortured, sentenced and
criminalized. In many instances, the refugees have been sold to human
traffickers.
This institutionalized, government-supported trafficking is a form of
modern-day slavery, and cannot be tolerated.
Please simply add your name to a letter that has already been prepared
by Ethical Traveler in partnership with Tenaganita to the Malaysian
Ministry of Home Affairs stating your concern for the refugees of
Burma. Let them know they will be losing tourist DOLLARS if the
situation continues and urge them to sign the 1951 UN Geneva
Convention, which will protect the fundamental rights of refugees. The
letters will be printed and sent via snail mail for greatest impact.
If we can send letters by the thousands we will demonstrate that ours
is a voice to contend with!
